Description
Dramatic Monologues offer something different for listening practice at upper-intermediate and more advanced levels.
Each monologue presents a character who addresses a listener or listeners in a particular situation. In order to build up a picture of what is happening students need to pick up various clues and references; the question direct attention to the features they need to listen for.
The monologues are designed to increase students' responsiveness to implicatory language by helping them learn to listen intelligently and interpret what thy hear. The monologues are recorded on an accompanying cassette.
